Summer poem

Remember summer?,

Please don't tell me you don't.

Remember that fresh smell of the grass

smelling the sweet smell of pollen

that sometimes makes your nose twitch.

Remember that smell of the pavement after it rained,

That was summer.

Remember all the buzzing of bees

and the chirping of cicadas.

Remember burning sun burn

and hats that sometimes blew away.

That was summer.

Remember falling leaves that blew into your hair

and that fresh smell of grass.

Remember the time you dove under the water at the beach

and you could taste the salty sea water on your lips.

That was summer.

Remember flowers that bloomed

and sometimes the bee stings.

Remember picking fruits and vegetables from your garden

and eating them without a care.

Remember the supermarket

having aisles of fruit and vegetables to choose from.

That was summer.
